Burlington County Farmers Market
The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders purchased this farm in 2005 using dedicated revenue from its Farmland, Open Space and Park Trust Fund. This is a preserved, working farm dedicated to connecting the general public to agriculture, nature and gardening. This site is maintained and managed through unique public/private partnerships between farmers, gardeners and the Burlington County Park System. This former dairy farm (owned by the Winner Family) was renamed the Burlington County Community Agricultural Center. On-going programs at the Ag Center include a tailgate farmers’ market featuring Jersey Fresh produce, community gardens and special events, programs and education highlighting local agriculture. The primary goals of the site are to foster a public awareness and appreciation for local agriculture and to support the local agricultural economy. This project is under the general administrative supervision of the Burlington County Department of Resource Conservation.
