Dundee Farmers Market, Inc.
Nestled in the hills and valleys of the Finger Lakes are the rural townships of Barrington, Dundee, and Starkey, in Yates County, New York. People from many cultures reside here, including Mennonites, Long Islanders, New Jerseyites, locally born and raised, American Indian, Rochesterians and Amish, to mention just a few. Tourism and wineries abound here as well. Route 14A runs through the Village of Dundee and Route 14 runs along the west side of Seneca Lake between Geneva (home of 2 major colleges) to the north and Watkins Glen (home of one the most famous international NASCAR race tracks) to the south. This area is rich in locally grown produce, beef, orchards, vineyards, and fishing. So what a perfect place to have a farmers’ market. In 2009 the Dundee Farmers’ Market was formed. This is a local-only market, with all vendors based within Yates or adjacent counties. It takes place behind the Dundee United Methodist Church on Water Street/14A, and the hours are Wednesday afternoons 3PM through 6:30 PM. New farmers, vendors and crafters are always welcome. In 2010, the market opens June 9th and runs through October 27. Come and be a part of the eat well and feel well experience.
