Grandma's Farm & Zoo

We operate a small farm in the Black Hills of Western South Dakota. A lifelong love of animals has inspired us to become the caretakers for a wide variety of animal species. "Old age" and "tired out bodies" has forced us to concentrate mostly on miniature animals! We have been raising Miniature horses since 1995 after having been involved with full sized horses and other animals since childhood. If you have ever owned a miniature anything, you know you can’t stop with just one. We now have an ever increasing amount and variety of animals living with us. Our miniature horse herd consists of around two dozen (increasing as you read this) miniature horses. Many of our minis are registered both AMHR and AMHA. Most of them are under 34 inches although we have a few select ones over 34 inches. We have solid colors, jet blacks, paints, appaloosas, palominos and are still trying very hard for buckskins. We have several Stallions standing at stud. We occasionally have horses or foals for sale. We operate a traveling petting zoo, pony rides, children’s amusement ride and children’s games. We use some of our miniature horses plus miniature donkeys, various kinds of goats, llamas, potbelly pigs, exotic birds, pocket pets, marsupials, and many other farm and exotic animals. We provide entertainment and education at fairs, grand openings, schools, festivals, craft shows, retirement homes, health care facilities and much more.
