Tappahannock Farmers Market
The Tappahannock Main Street Program, the Town of Tappahannock and Essex County have planned a series of monthly Farmers’ Markets to be located in historic downtown Tappahannock. The markets will be held from 9-1 pm on the third Saturday of each month starting April and running through November (but not June as this is RivahFest). The market is located on Cross Street, on Fountain Green, and the Courthouse Green, in the center of Tappahannock, one block from the intersection of Route 17 and 360. The Markets will feature: vegetables and fruits; meats and seafood; garden plants and accessories; home made crafts and fine arts; and an assortment of restaurant and food vendors, as well as, music by local performers. The Markets will be located on Cross Street, on Fountain Green, and when the size of market expands on the Courthouse Green, in historic downtown Tappahannock. The dates are April 21, May 19, no June market, July 21, August 18, September 15, October 20 and November 17 in 2012. The Tappahannock Main Street Program (TMSP) is a grass roots community effort initiated by local citizens, business and property owners, and members of civic groups, to promote the revitalization and historic preservation of downtown Tappahannock.
